Hi All,
So I'm finally out of hospital, I was discharged on Thursday 16th December after 26 days of doctors, tests, buzzers it is a little surreal to be home again but I'm slowly adjusting and doing well. I still have a lot of physio and things still to come to get the most out of the medication (Baclofen) I now have to take for my muscles and spasms. I found out while in hospital that I also have osteoporosis in my legs and left hip and osteopenia in the base of my spine! So I have to do a lot of weight bearing on my legs an
d along with my Baclofen which I take 3 times a day I have to take vitamin D and Calcium ones a day!
Having said this while being in hospital for a mo
nth I have come a long way with some intense physio and just generally in the last few months
. If you have been keeping track of my blog you will know that in August that I could not sit in my wheelchair without tilt and finally able to sit up again in October. With a month in hosptal I have learnt to push my manual wheelchair for the first
time and beyond doctors and physios expectations I have gone one step further and learnt to walk in a walker again for the first time in six years going as far as walking out on a walker the day I was discharged!

Gone from this in August 2010
To this Early November 2010

Something I thought I never would do
WALK out of the hospital 16/12/2010
The hospital part may be over for now but I still have to under go an MRI scan on christmas eve to make sure all is ok and a lot more physio in the months to come, but I am closer to living life minus a wheelchair and I'm sure one day that will happen.
I could not have got through my hospital stint and tough physio without Mamma she is as always a great support and encourager and I love her to bits and it is awesome to have her by my side to witness the changes in me as her Little One starts to find her legs and with that freedom from Cerebral Palsy and mobilty
Shall do another video soon, but for now speaking of physio, time to do some exercises.
With Love
