Ready to hit the town on my feet for the first time and determine
stay that way to say hello to 2011
Hi Everyone,
Welcome to 2011!!! Sorry I haven't blogged things have been so hectic for me as you can imagine, but I'm doing really well had my last appointment for a while last week and I have been keeping up with walking and excercise as you can see....
I'm really excited because for the FIRST TIME EVER I saw the new year in on my feet! and to add to it all I danced all night only sitting for about 20 minutes!!! I went to a NYE after-party in the wheelchair though after all it was 1.30am and my feet were killing me by that point after standing all night.
A friend of mine from high school and I went to a local bar where her younger brothers band was playing and it was AWESOME!!! the two of us were dancing and singing the night away and having a blast!!!
Also making an enterence was quite funny because where I live it is only a very small town so everyone knows everyone so as I was negotiating this massive step to get in (by massive I mean almost as big as my leg) heads turned to see me enter with a walker and no chair people were stunned!
People kept pulling me over in amazement and patting me on the back.... I just took it all in my stride and thought to myself "hey this is not too bad!" I showed off my ability too to be able to walk, drink and dance at once LOL
I text mamma too to let her know how the feet where holding up too....
Before I knew it was the final countdown and I was still on my feet!!! My heart was racing, the excitement was building and then 3....2....1! I had achieved ANOTHER Goal!!
I turned to my friend who wore a look of happiness and disbelief and yelled at her "PABS OH MY GOD I DID IT, I DID IT I'M ON MY FEET!"
I then whipped my phone out and text Mamma telling her that I had done it.... Little one had seen the new year in on my feet!!! (mind you I was that excited that I had left words out of the text LOL) but she knew what I meant and was proud! I was just so numb it felt really like an out of body experience.
So happy!!
So at about 1.30 am my feet decided enough was enough and I had to use the chair but by then we were off to an after party for an hour or so and because I had stopped moving as much the tiredness had kicked in and I was winding down!! We finally made it to bed at about 4 am and had about four hours sleep. And my friend and I woke up and reflected on the crazy antics of the night before.
By that I mean that we could not stop lauging at the number of old guys that tried to hit on me!!!.... No I'm not kidding! and we are still laughing days later :-D
Even looking pretty on very little sleep!
So lets see what this year brings shall we?
